NFF UYO 2010: WOMEN CLUB OWNERS TO BOYCOTT NFF ACTIVITIES

Maigari...NFF Boss facing fresh controversy

The Nigerian Women Football League (NWFL) club owners association met  in an emergency meeting in Abuja yesterday and resolved to boycott all activities of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) until their rights as the congress of the league is respected and honoured.
The meeting which had in attendance all the 20 clubs in the premier league lasted all the night from Tuesday. Part of the resolution of the club owners include that their congress meeting held at the Citilodge Hotel, Area 1, in Abuja had agreed on approved statutes and election guidelines for the NFF’s approval. The congress’ decision on the 19th August 2010 unanimously chose their executive for the next four years. They wrote the NFF on the 13th December 2010 to demand being excluded from the election processes designed for Uyo on the 27th and 28th December 2010.
It would be recalled that the NWFL statutes was approved by the NFF board under Alhaji Abdullahi Sani Lulu on the 25th July 2010. The election of the NWFL had elected Princess Hannah Jegede (Chairperson), Alhaji Audu Nuhu, Mrs Dili Onyedima, Mr Emmanuel Zira, Comm Sam Kombor, Hon Ironsi Punas, Mr Adebowale Adeoye and Chief Peter Oguche. All 20 professional women clubs participated in the election. The communiqué for that congress was signed by Chief Peter Oguche (Chairman) and Mr. Dan Evumena (Secretary) who are chairman and secretary of Club Owners Association.
As part of the resolution, our sources revealed that the Club Owners have written CAF, FIFA, Sports minister Ibrahim Bio and the NFF on their decisions. When spoken to, Princess Bola Jegede said in a telephone chat, “I was not in Abuja. I heard about some of the issues but I have not been fully briefed by the Chairman and Secretary of the club owners, incidentally, the congress of the league.”
