Maigari...has he not resigned yet? |
OBAMA CUP: HAS MAIGARI NOT YET RESIGNED?
This is certainly a wonderful nation we have. Now, let’s quickly review the flopped Obama Cup tourney. I recall that on Saturday, 29th January 2011 when I broke the story titled: NIGERIA IN INTERNATIONAL FRIENDLY SCAM. There were protests from my friends from the FA. I got a caustic reply from a friend of the organiser of the Guatemala match, who in the course of his defence exposed himself as the organiser.
Thence, a regular friend of the blog, Gbengus Gbenguze, replied in a fact ridden violent detail. Our friends kept mute. The putting off of the match proved me right. FIRST GOAL.
The NFF came up to celebrate the Obama Cup being sanctioned by the United States Soccer Federation (USSF). I was so confident that my finding cannot crackle in days. The eve of the game, shortly before the Nigerian team jetted out, I told some guys in the Glass House: “why do you want to waste the N75m going to a jamboree?” and in return he called me names.
Hours later, I got the sweet revenge when official sources of the Ticketmaster, the Panama FA and the Mexican FA showed that the tourney was a confirmed fraud. Leading to my report of Friday 25th February, 2011.
In all, the buck of all these stops on the table of the NFF President, Aminu Maigari. In sane climes, no one needs to ask him or advise him, he should have resigned for bringing the nation to disrepute and even, wasting the tax payers’ monies. If he does not know what to do, the National Sports Commission (NSC) should know they needed to demand his resignation.
THE NFF CHARADE OF SELECTIONS:
With the outcome of the Elections Appeal Committee made public it is clear that the entire expenses incurred in the process of that election is also wasted. Tax payers’ monies being re-wasted again? Yes, wasted. Is it not obvious that we need the Ibidapo-Obe Panel, or its ilk, to review the decisions of the Appeal Committee?
If for any reason the NFF does not go through this route, then it is obvious that Mr. Davidson Owumi is clearly cheated. It will be sickening if there are new postulations that the decisions of the Appeal Committee is final. It cannot and should not be final.
I saw you on SuperSport Nigeria this evening. I was so convinced about your professorial presentation but was very much afraid for your life. The people who seek the truth and good order are always pursued. God will protect you.
ReplyDeleteThe people who brought you to SuperSport did well. May God help us. You made my evening. I have read so many articles here since I saw this address on the station and it has only strengthened my believe that hope seems to be in the horizon.
Keep it up.
As if this woman was there. Two days ago, we were discussing him when we saw him addressing some of this issues on AIT. It is obvious he is saying the truth. My friend was saying she hopes they will not go after his life because he is exposing the evils they do in the name of our football.
ReplyDeleteI came back from work and saw the conviction that this man spoke. I quickly copied this blog address from the SuperSport report. When I visited, I wondered, what a stupidly dumb FA we have. This page is revealing, sweet and informing. You try. Nothing do u. Waka anyhow. God is with you. Fear Not. Abi?
ReplyDeleteThank you SuperSports Nigeria. This blog came live on your prog yesterday. My visit here is informing. This is where to get the real but true gist about the fools saddled with managing Nigerian football. Mr Fashikun, I liked your professional presentation yesterday especially how you were responding to Anazodo with incisive facts and dates. Uhm!
ReplyDeleteDear Patrick Omorodion and Jide,
ReplyDeleteI do not know where you get the strength from, but no matter where I commend you for your courage, forthrightness, and unflinching devotion to the truth. There is no way that evil will not give way to good, and lies to the truth, in the end.
I read you guys every time and my heart fills with relief that we still have genuine fighters in the trenches and that when the battle is finally over and the 'enemy ' has been vanquished there will be a few good men rising to hand the reins of our football over to a new generation.
I doff my heart.
Your brother in the struggle.

DILICHUKWU Onyedinma, whose election as Women League board chairman was nullified over the weekend, has rejected the verdict of the John Ola Mafo-led Appeal Committee that annulled the election.
ReplyDeleteShe contends that the said Article 33 (3) and (4) of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Statutes cited by the appeal committee did not refer to the Women’s League board. According to her, “Section 3 states that ‘every candidate for the post of President (of the NFF) must be nominated by his state FA of origin and endorsed by three members of NFF from three other geo-political zones.’
“Section four states ‘the first vice-president and the other eight ordinary candidates must be nominated by their state FA of origin and endorsed by two members of NFF from two other geo-political zones. How does that concern elections into the league boards? It applies strictly to the 10 NFF executive board members.
“Why did he omit Section One of the same article where the 10 executive committee members were specified? He just twisted the NFF Statutes to suit his purpose.”
She insisted that she had not violated any provision of either the NFF Statutes or the electoral guidelines, saying: “For the election, we were nominated by our clubs. I have lived and worked in FCT for 26 years and I am the GM, FCT Queens.
“My club chairman endorsed me. Why are Mafo and his cohorts insistent that I must contest under the South East? We contested that election based on the electoral guidelines, why didn’t he take recourse to the guidelines in his verdict?
“He brandished an unpublished list of January 18 disregarding the official and final list of January 21 as well as the list in the election brochure where I was duly listed under the North Central.
“I don’t want to rock the boat of Nigerian football, so I implore the NFF to review that verdict. I doubt Mafo’s uprightness as an arbiter and I’m ready to contest that judgment to the highest possible level of arbitration in sports if I can’t get justice here.”
